The diarist and pastiche aspects of the work have always been natural to my way of working. My way of working is a dialogue of found imagery interposed with my own experiences. The layers of materials encourage open-ended interpretation.
It has taken me a long time to find internal acceptance of my way of working. I judged myself for not having a focus yet I have never stopped producing and have kept plodding along. It has only been in recent years that I have started to exhibit.
The exploration of relationships and the creating of collections are integral to my work.
I passionately organise and arrange objects, pondering how they look together and the open-ended story that they imply. The sheer mystery of why certain things no matter how dissimilar go together and others seemingly compatible create such conflict and violence in their pairing.
My works are an intricate dance of stimulus and response.
